As we crawl deeper into Autumn in Australia, those long evenings spent outdoors on the veranda fade into those suddenly dark early evenings spent curled up on the sofa (perhaps enjoying some My Kitchen Rules?!).

But why not squeeze a few more weeks out of those outdoor spaces but adding a luxuriously soft blanket, a hearty glass of red and an outdoor heater. Perhaps you could even add a pit fire if you’re really lucky!

I love combining natural timber and white against the dark greens of gardens. It makes for a really fresh, modern and simple space.

Take a deep breath and relaxxxx…!

Splashes of metallic are busting out this Spring/Summer season 2012, and the new tone on the block is copper. On the catwalks, embossed gold tulip skirts, on the street – sporty luxe foil shorts, and on the ridiculously stylish Christine Centenera - metallic-thread embroided jackets. What about inside the four walls? Functional appliances such as taps and lamp shades in minimalistic copper or the more decorative plates and chest-of-drawers in hues of gold and silver are ways to introduce glimmers of metallic.  The visuals:

Are you ‘pro’ or ‘anti’ fur kind of person? A fan of real fur, imitation or neither?  Do you succumb to perceived ethics or style when fur is involved?

Fur has a luminous quality – that imperfect perfection – that synthetic materials just can’t imitate.

But do you agree with using animal skin for style?

The debate often gets simplified.

Animal activist groups generally argue that we shouldn’t use fur products under any circumstances.

My take is that when fur is the unavoidable by-product of vermin eradication, why not recycle and enjoy it in your home?

What’s your take on the debate? Would you get fur in your home?
