I’m the first to admit I wasn’t a normal 22 year old. When I moved back to Ballarat to finish my Masters in Communications, most of my friends were still in Melbourne enjoying the partying lifestyle. I was living back at home and poring my time into my thesis and my new found hobby, getinmyhome.
My ideal weekend (I don’t lie) was spent looking through the show homes at the many new estates that were popping up at that time in the western suburbs of Ballarat. I’d always like to look through the various different builders homes first, before finishing with the often two storey, spacious and luxuriously decorated Metricon homes. I would take home the floor-plans and dream about having a gorgeous, spacious study off the entry (which the Metricon homes always seemed to star) where I could greet clients and work from home. I would then go online and play around with the different facades and finishings to create that dream look.
So fast forward to earlier this year, and it was SO exciting to be contacted by Metricon to bring together my background in hosting (hello Channel 31 morning news presenter and rural news service video presenter) and appreciation of interiors to become their presenter and host.
Today marks the day when the first video hits Metricon’s social media channels – so take a look below at the beautiful Lookbook theme ‘Empire‘ – which is inspired by oriental opulence and epitomised by vivid colours, velvet furnishings and gold accents:
