They say kitchens sell homes – and that would have to be the case with this new Townsville home.
The incredible open plan kitchen-living-dining space captures the iconic North Queensland sun in a way that fills the home with light, while feeling modern, calm and cool.
Let’s step inside to see more!
Ethos Interiors partnered with Hewitson Homes to create this display home, with a mission to showcase a design that was unique to Townsville. As designer Anna Williams of Ethos Interiors explains:
Townsville has a reputation of being too regional to be stylish, and we wanted to show that how incorrect that idea was!
The focal point of the home is the central atrium, highlighted by Colorbond Monument Matt feature walls, which floods the central open plan space with light.
In fact, the entire home seems to follow the light, with large louvres, feature bathroom windows and a stunning floor-level glass panel in the theatre that offers a creative view into the atrium.
Whites and shades of taupe were used to create a home that feels refined yet family-friendly. I personally love the modern edge seen through the black tapware and hardware – echoed through the furnishings.
Then of course there are the specious bathrooms, which are clean-lined and feature striking chevron linen-look tiles. There is even a bath AND a large walk in shower – which to this girl who lives in a rather compact apartment is the definition of luxury!
With a simple design, and deliberate colour scheme, this home is a slick representation of Townsville; a growing urban city which still clings to its outdoorsy, regional roots.
