Get In My Home

Dreamy Mornington Peninsula accommodation, Orchard Keepers

Less than one hour’s drive from Melbourne, nestled between vines and orchards, is a beautiful Mornington Peninsula accommodation called ‘Orchard Keepers‘.

I came across the very ‘Country Style magazine’ cottages during one of my many Instagram scrolls, and I thought you would love them too. Just like my previous story on Weylandts, Orchard Keepers accommodation is very much centered around the good life.

As owner Poss Sampieri tells me, the 10 acre estate, nestled in Red Hill, was originally home to three cottages. They each dated back to the late 19th century to mid 20th century. Now, having been lovingly restored, guests can stay in the four bedroom home and separate ‘Workers Cottage’ full of create comforts, and of course, stunning interiors.

This is the place you stay when you really want to treat yourself and wind down. In the kitchen you’ll find Smeg appliances, French glassware, and mud ceramic tableware. In the bathrooms, you can relax with organic Melbourne-GOTS-certified Loom towels and Mornington Peninsula’s own Olieve & Olie hand and body wash.

The decor feels relaxed, cosy and like a stylist has carefully curated each room using pieces from across the globe. The walls are chalk white, contrasted against the timber floorboards. The sofas and bedding are covered with Hale Mercantile Co European linen, giving a very French farmhouse vibe, and that great laid back aesthetic that linen provides. And the timber furniture pieces – like the huge French dining table – are vintage. There’s no matchy-matchy package deal furniture here – which is part of the reason why the interiors have so much charm and character.

I think it would almost be a shame not to stay at Orchard Keepers during winter, where you can light the two wood burning fireplaces, pop on a DVD and cosy up on the deep couches. However, something that appeals all year round is the location. Open the French doors and soak up the sea views. Then wander into the kitchen gardens, where you’re encouraged to tuck into the fragrant herbs, veggies and fruits. Poss will even give you a seasonal produce guide, updated weekly, to help you choose what to pick and add to your lunch and dinner. Mmm!

So without further ado, feast your eyes on this gorgeous Mornington Peninsula accommodation, Orchard Keepers… and see if you can spot the cute little Staffy too!
