Hailing itself as ‘not your ordinary trade show’, Rogue Lifestyle is fresh onto the market as the new – and alternative – option to getting up close to the best suppliers of the Australian lifestyle world.
Specifically curated for a collaboration of like-minded, quality brands, the event launches in Melbourne on 3-5 August.
Behind Rogue Lifestyle is Emma Patterson, designer of popular kid’s homewares brand Homely Creatures. Emma says – as a seasoned exhibitor – she had a hunger for a different way to showcase her wares in comfort and style, that didn’t cost the earth. She also felt a need for brands to be able to make connections with each other – not just brands to buyers.
“We’re going back to why we all started going to trade shows in the first place – to connect, get inspired, make quality collaborations happen, and get real value. Rogue Lifestyle is as much about having a damn good time as it is about making deals and getting inspired.”
Emma says she noticed that trade shows were not what they used to be, and she wanted to do something before buyers became uninspired.
“Australia has so many great brands, but many of them have taken to showing in their own studios or hotels, making it really hard for buyers to visit everyone they want to see. It’s also stressful for the brands to all have to become event coordinators as well and deal with the time and monetary costs associated with creating your own mini show which may not pull the crowds.”
This year, Rogue Lifestyle has teamed up with students from Jenna Densten’s (aka of Jenna and Josh from The Block TV show) Design School to have a mass stylist take over of the show.
During the August event, the students will co-ordinate live flatlay, installation and interior shoots using Rogue Lifestyle’s impressive line-up of brands, including Pony Rider, Ahoy Trader and Camomile London. PLUS, there is going to be food trucks, live music and workshops!
