Viktoria + Woods is a brand that evokes images of contemporary sophistication and a captivating tension between feminine and industrial elements. When the doors to its new-look flagship Melbourne store at Emporium opened at the end of last year, the fit out was all that and more.
Queen of interiors, Fiona Lynch, of her self named business, was tasked with making over the Emporium store in a matter of weeks.
Inside the boutique, you’ll find a muted colour palette with a focus on texture; from the rendered walls, to the open seam leather ottomans, angular mirrors, rough sawn painted timber display pieces, terrazzo floors, a bespoke light by one of my favourite lighting designers Christopher Boots and undressed steel window frames that let the natural light flood in.
This flagship store – alongside those in Paddington and Armadale – is an important foray into retail for Viktoria + Woods, which has traditionally been a wholesale brand.
